Other Digitized Files   China County Boundary File   The digital county boundaries and associated county names and codes contained in the China County Boundary File was generated for the academic community to minimize duplication and unnecessary startup time for research requiring analysis and mapping of county data. This file has approximately 2,400 counties and was digitized using a 1:6,000,000 population density map published in China in August 1986. The map projection used is an equal-area conic projection with two standard parallels (27 and 45 degrees latitude). It consists of county boundaries of the 30 provinces and municipalities in China (including Taiwan), resulting in a total of 2,457 polygons and 86,481 coordinate pairs. Requirements: PC or compatible, with Windows 95, NT 4.0, or above.
